Water’s Edge Artists – Painters for Preservation – is an alliance of primarily plein air artists dedicated to artistically recording historic, endangered or threatened places.
If you're new to painting out of doors, this is the place to get started in this fun and fulfilling lifestyle.
A percentage of artwork sold through WEA organized events goes to support preservation and historic organizations. To date, this is more than $84,000!
Develop friendships with other like-minded artists at WEA "paint outs" and a variety of other activities. Visit the Calendar of Events for more info.
WEA artists share their time and talent with one another in a supportive and friendly manner so they may grow as artists and improve their skills.
Members will have samples of their art on the website, contact info if they choose, and a link to their personal web site if they have one.
Six general meetings are held per year. (We've been using Zoom with great success.) Artists are encouraged to become involved in various WEA committees.
WEA offers sanctioned, organized, and sponsored events where members have an opportunity to sell their art.
The Rahr-West Museum Annual Exhibit "The Art of Preservation" is a juried show for members only, and is very prestigious. Visit our "Events" page for more information!
